2019 UTM Residence Student Staff

2019-2020 UTM Residence Student Staff (RSS)

Welcome to the 2019-2020 recruitment process for UTM Residence Staff. Please read through the following information regarding job requirements for the Don, PAL and/or RSA positions.

Requirements of the Don/PAL/RSA Role(s):

  • Expectations: The health and safety of students, staff, and guests in residence is a primary concern for Student Housing & Residence Life (SHRL). In any Residence Student Staff (RSS) position, you may be called upon to act as a first responder to students in need and in crises and make appropriate decisions to manage those concerns. These situations require capacity to manage high-stress situations, make independent decisions, and engage in appropriate self-care to manage your own wellness.

  • Basic First Aid & CPR (Don and PALS only): If selected as a Don or PAL, you will be required to get/renew Basic First Aid & CPR training before RSS training in August 2019. Alternatively, you can sign up to participate in the RSS First Aid Training taking place during the August Training period.

  • Police Records (Vulnerable Persons) Check (NOT required for RSA role or by International Students**): If you are given a conditional offer, we require a police records check to be completed by the beginning of the Residence Student Staff Training Institute in August.
         **An International Student is a student that requires a VISA/Study Permit for entering and studying in Canada.

Diversity:
The University of Toronto is strongly committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal People of North Amerca, persons with (dis)abilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.
