CV/Personal Statement Camp: Mini Sessions

Nov 7, 2019 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM
Student Success Seminar Room - Koffler Student Services Centre (214 College)

Registration Deadline: Nov 7, 2019 09:00 AM

Applying to Grad or Professional School? Feeling stuck? Come to Camp! Write your CV and Personal Statement in a semi-structured environment on your own or with Peers. You'll receive expert advice, feedback and support from Career Educators throughout the day.

Most graduate programs require that you create a CV, personal statement and/or letter of intent to communicate your intentions and interests for applying to the program. Select which components of the camp will benefit you! We will be introducing key components for writing your application documents. You will also have the opportunity to work on your documents and receive support and feedback so please bring all your drafts with you!  The best part is you can participate in any combination of the activities listed below so your experience is tailored to what you need!

Between 10am to 4pm, you can select and combine from the following support:

  • Mini workshops: 15 minute workshops covering fundamental CV and Personal Statement development tips
  • A Wellness Career Chat: Applying to further education can be a stressful process, we will talk about parallel planning, strategizing, and ensuring self-care
  • Group Writing space: Non-structured time/space to write in a group setting where you can work on your own and get advice from your peers
  • Individual Writing: Space to write independently in the Student Success Booths and Appointment Tables
  • 1:1 Appointments: Brief, rotating 15min drop in appointments will be offered as well
Snacks will be provided!

Please register ahead of time and cancel promptly to provide an opportunity to all students to participate. Bring your t-card!
Due to high number of registrants, we will be prioritizing students who have registered and will be booking 1:1 appointments on a first-come first serve basis.  Workshops and supports will also be available to registrants until we reach room capacity. Students may be asked to wait for the next offering that same day if we reach full room capacity.

Schedule for the day's event can be found here.
