Ulead: Facilitating Virtual Meetings

Workshop Description: Have your meetings moved online? Are you looking for some tips and tricks on running meetings in a virtual space? This session will explore strategies for facilitating effective, meaningful and exciting meetings. We will look at setting and writing effective agendas, planning and organizing meetings, facilitating dialogue, responding to questions and issues, and writing minutes - all through the lens of running a meeting virtually! Once the "basics" of effective meetings are covered, we will dive into how to transform meetings into engaging and dynamic opportunities to team build.

This workshop is open to all students at the University of Toronto however, club participants can also count this workshop toward their Ulead points. This workshop counts towards Organizational Development and Membership Engagement (ODME) Ulead points.

*Registration is required so that the morning of the event we can send you the calendar invite to Join (the) Microsoft Teams Meeting. Please ensure to read your Registration Confirmation email for more details. 

What you will need & access:

  • Please have something to record your thoughts with.
  • This workshop requires access to the internet for an uninterrupted hour of time although a call-in number will also be provided for a less participatory option.
  • You can request the slides ahead of time (or after) to support your participation and/or learning.
  • The workshop will be presented in English with English and closed captioning available via MS Teams. There is also a translation function for the comments. 
Please note that our workshops may contain interactive components. You might be invited to engage with the workshop using the chat function, virtual breakout rooms, and will have the option to contribute using your mic and/or video functions.
