Black Students Talk With Black Profs!: Confronting Imposter Syndrome

Sep 24, 2020 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM

Registration Deadline: Sep 24, 2020 12:00 PM

Black people have historically and continually been made to feel like they are not smart enough, and do not deserve to be at university. Join a conversation with Black students and Black Assistant Professor Janelle Joseph, about the racist micro / macroaggressions that cause impostor syndrome and mental health issues, and strategies to confront and heal.

The Black Students Talk with Black Profs! series is an opportunity for Black students to meet each other including Black Mentor Navigators and Black professors, from a variety of departments. Connect around shared experiences of race and racism. Students will pracitce networking skills, establish supportive relationships, and discover relatable Black faculty.

This event will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams. We will email details on how to join the event one day in advance.
