Conversations with Registrars: Academic Planning for First Gen Students

Goal:
First Generation students will be able to talk with Registrars about their services to support students, and how to access them.
Learning outcomes:
- Students who participate will be able to ascertain at least three (3) Registrarial services that students need in order to feel supported in their classes and at the university;
- By the end of this event students will summarize at least three (3) academic planning resources to support fulfillment of graduation requirements.
For first generation students to familiarize themselves with academic resources and other services at the Registrar Office. Career planning and choosing a program of study are big decisions for students (and their families) requiring researching majors and departments that best suit you. Please invite your parents / guardians / supporters to this discussion with Registrars, so that you can all learn strategies to deal with competing expectations in academic planning.
