Goal Statement:
Inform incoming First Generation students how to access a variety of funding support and financial counselling.
Learning Outcome:
Incoming First Generation students who participate will be able to understand the financial planning necessary for university.
Description:
First Generation students (whose parents did not complete a post-secondary degree in Canada) are more likely to experience financial hardship pre /during /post the pandemic. This workshop will help First Generation students and their supporters to understand what government and U of T funding is available. Please invite your family and friends. (Note: The presentation in the first hour will primarily focus on the Ontario Student Assistance Program. International and any other students that wish to are welcome to join the event in the second hour for the discussion about awards and financial counselling).
