This session is part of the Career Chats series, a dialogue-based program that engages campus partners, students, and recent graduates in discussions at the intersections of equity and careers.
 


In this interactive themed discussion, co-hosted by Career Exploration & Education and the Family Care Office, you and a small group of your peers will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion around how to balance the job search with caregiving responsibilities. Whether you are caring for an aging family member, an ill loved one, children, or a member of your chosen family - you are not alone, and there are resources, strategies, and services to support you on your journey. 

Bring a cup of tea or coffee, and join us in conversation to:

  • Connect with peers, a Career Educator and the Family Care Office to discuss strategies and tools to balance the job search and caregiving responsibilities
  • Learn how and when to address caregiving responsibilities on your resume and in an interview
  • Familiarize yourself with supports available to you across the university as you balance caregiving with your job search
     

What you need to know.

  •  Ensure you register! Registration will provide you with the link and instructions for accessing the online session.
  • Prepare by reviewing the Tip Sheet for Joining Zoom meetings: 
  • Arrive on time (or early). Events start on time and you may be denied entry after the event start time.
  • If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration to allow others the opportunity to participate.
  • If there is additional capacity, waitlisted individuals will be notified via email prior to the start of the session.
  • Only University of Toronto students and recent graduates (within the past two years) are eligible to attend.
