Planning for the Winter Semester

Jan 17, 2022 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Registration Deadline: Jan 17, 2022 10:00 AM

Do you struggle to find time to create a semester-long plan? In this event, a Learning Strategist will lead you and a group of your peers through creating a plan for the upcoming winter semester. Through a series of interactive activities, the goal will be for you to have a plan/schedule for your winter semester work by the end of the event. This event will focus less on strategy instruction and more on holding you accountable to creating a semester plan. Topics covered in this event include:

  • A review of time management strategies
  • Reviewing the deadlines in your syllabus
  • Step-by-step instructions and guidance on how to create a schedule
Note: Please bring the syllabus(es) for your course(s) to this event if available

Format:  Planning for the Winter Semester will be offered virtually via MS Teams. Students are encouraged to attend for the full hour. The session will be run by an Accessibility Services Learning Strategist. Students are welcome to take breaks during the session as needed.

Participation: Being on camera, using your mic, or participating in the chat are all optional. We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. There will not be breakout rooms. Students are welcome to bring their own questions to the event.

Materials: We encourage you to bring the syllabus(es) for your course(s) to this event if available. We will also take some time to download this material during the event. Slides will be sent to attendees via email after the session.

Platform Access Information: This event will be delivered using MS Teams. Please ensure your MS Teams access is up to date to make the most of this session. To learn about the accessibility features on MS Teams and how to use them, you can read more about the overview of accessibility features and watch the MS Teams video tutorials.

Technology & Sound: This event will be taking place over the MS Teams, and will require a computer or device with this platform installed, with speakers or connection to a headset. The majority of session will use PowerPoint slides, which will be available after the session, and your own downloaded materials.
