Sep 22, 2022 01:30 PM to 02:30 PM
Room 556/558 of Student Commons (230 College Street) and MS Teams

Registration Deadline: Sep 22, 2022 01:30 PM

Do you struggle to find time to create a semester-long plan? In this event, a Learning Strategist will lead you and a group of your peers through creating a plan for the upcomingsemester. Through a series of interactive activities, the goal will be for you to have a plan/schedule for your  semester work by the end of the event. This event will focus less on strategy instruction and more on holding you accountable to creating a semester plan. Topics covered in this event include:

  • A review of time management strategies
  • Reviewing the deadlines in your syllabus
  • Step-by-step instructions and guidance on how to create a schedule
  • Note: Please bring the syllabus(es) for your course(s) to this event if available

Format:  Planning for the Semester will be offered simultaneously in-person and virtually via MS Teams. Students are encouraged to attend for the full hour. The session will be run by an Accessibility Services Learning Strategist. Students are welcome to take breaks during the session as needed.

Participation: Being on camera, using your mic, or participating in the chat are all optional when attending virtually. We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. There will not be breakout rooms. Students are welcome to bring their own questions to the event. Participation in person is encouraged, though not required.

Materials: We encourage you to bring the syllabus(es) for your course(s) to this event if available. We will also take some time to download this material during the event. Slides will be sent to attendees via email after the session. If attending in person, we encourage you to bring a laptop, tablet, smartphone, and/or notebook/agenda.

Platform Access Information: If attending online, this event will be delivered using MS Teams. Please ensure your MS Teams access is up to date to make the most of this session. To learn about the accessibility features on MS Teams and how to use them, you can read more about the overview of accessibility features and watch the MS Teams video tutorials. If attending in person, this event will take place in Room 556/558 of Student Commons (230 College Street).

Technology & Sound: If attending online, this event will be taking place over the MS Teams, and will require a computer or device with this platform installed, with speakers or connection to a headset. The majority of session will use PowerPoint slides, which will be available after the session, and your own downloaded materials. If attending this event in person, TV screens and speakers will share the PowerPoint slides and sound, respectively.
