Creating Inclusive Environments for Clubs and Groups

Creating an Inclusive Environment.
Want to ensure that your Club is inclusive of all? Creating Inclusive Environments will help you put hopes into action. Through this synchronous workshop we will encourage you to think about inclusion as a verb, as action in addressing systemic oppression. We take time to think about what exclusion and inclusion are and how they affect students within U of T as a whole, as well as within Club settings. We work together through scenarios and discussion to brainstorm practical strategies to create more inclusive environments in your Club,  communities and work.

Accessibility Notes.

About the Clubs Essential Training Program:

The Clubs Essential Training Program is offered to leaders and members of St. George campus organizations (i.e. recognized clubs and groups, student societies, program/course unions, councils) and participants receive the Clubs Essential Training certificate upon completion along with CCR recognition. It is a great way to learn more about the many aspects of being part of a club, building meaningful connections with other clubs and developing your own leadership skills.

If you are not currently part of a club or group, we encourage you to register with the Learning to Lead Program which is designed for all students.

The 2022-2023 Clubs Essential Training program includes many different workshops within the following categories. To receive a Clubs Essential Training certificate, individuals are required to attend one workshop from each of the 3 categories below.
  • Organizational Development and Membership Engagement
  • Executive Role Development
  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Accountability and Tracking for Individuals:
  • Enroll in the Clubs Essential Training Program Tracker on CLNx and track your progress.
  • Check CLNx to ensure that your workshop attendance has been recorded.
  • At the end of the year, if you have completed all 3 mandatory workshops, it will be recognized on the CCR.
