Job Shadowing Orientation Workshop

The Job Shadowing Orientation Workshop is an information and training session for the Job Shadowing program. In this workshop, you will learn about how to apply to the program and optimize your job shadowing experience. You will have the opportunity to self-reflect and apply your knowledge and skills in research and question development to help prepare you for your placement and engagement with your host, while developing career exploration skills for beyond.
This workshop involves the following activities:
- A blend of presentation with PowerPoint slides and peer-based activities
- Short small group learning to share ideas, learn, and problem-solve. Participants are encouraged to communicate verbally with their peers
- Sharing thoughts to verbal questions and prompts given by the workshop facilitator, verbally.
- Participants have the option to ask questions to the facilitator. Asking questions during the workshop is recommended and encouraged, but not required
What you need to know:
- Ensure you register! Registration will close by 9am on the day of the workshop.
- If possible, please arrive a couple of minutes before the start time as events start on time and you don't want to miss important information.
- If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration to allow others the opportunity to participate.
- If there is additional capacity, individuals on the waitlist will be notified via email prior to the start of the session.
- Only current University of Toronto students and recent graduates (within the past two years) are eligible to attend.

How the event works:
- Platform: This event will take place in-person at Student Commons, 5th Floor, Room 558 (230 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1R2).
- Technology: The session will use PowerPoint slides.
- Participation: We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. You are welcome to ask your own questions or simply observe these sessions to learn from ongoing discussions. - Materials: You do not have to bring any materials for this event. We encourage you to come prepared with questions and suggest that you bring something to record your thoughts and notes.
- Privacy: Workshops will not be recorded.
