Mapping Your Grad Success Path
Do you have a well-designed strategic map for your grad degree? The long haul of grad research degrees, and the intensity of grad professional programs, can seem to pull students into a sense of chronic work demands, overwhelm, and "just keeping up" (if that).
Taking the time to design your Grad Success Path --- to preemptively map out the necessary competencies, focuses, and academic milestones across the timeline of your grad degree --- can support stronger learning with less stress and more fulfillment for you as a grad student. To create and follow through on a strategic Grad Success Path can provide clarity and help you prioritize your efforts. Otherwise, you may find yourself pulled into a constant stream of daily and weekly to-do's and lose sight of your bigger academic goals --- or at worst, find yourself at times feeling lost, overwhelmed, burnt out, or uninspired.
A meaningful Grad Success Path involves (1) some deliberate, regular goal setting, (2) ongoing planning, and (3) getting feedback on your progress (and processes). The Mapping Your Grad Success Path continuing discussion-and-workshop series is for you to strategically design, take stock of, and adjust your academic work plans so that you have a guiding vision for, and can make steady progress in, your grad degree.
This series will focus on the practical: designing and following a written overarching plan for your academic work from term to term that can serve as a progress check and help preempt gaps and delays in your grad work.
