Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga Calendar

2SLGBTQ+ Yoga

Mar 16, 2023 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM
Multi-Purpose Room

Registration Deadline: Mar 16, 2023 08:00 PM

All bodies and all abilities are welcome in this yoga series for students and staff from the 2SLGBTQ+ community. There is no pressure to perform yoga here. Instead we will move with intention, thoughtfully leading from your inner experience of the body and the breath. Our aim is to create a warm, welcoming, joyful community of practice for all where personal growth and healing are possible.

Beginners are welcomed! Everyone should feel free to do as much or as little of the physical components of class as they feel comfortable doing. Options will be offered through the class so that you can find the right balance between physical challenge and ease. No special clothing required. Just clothes that you can bend and move in.

Yoga mats or chairs if preferred are available for in-person activities. If you have questions about the practice, your instructor is available after class.

Keke, also known as Keonna; is a multidisciplinary performing artist, movement instructor and community builder. She began her movement practice as a classically trained ballerina from the age of 8 years old. After dealing with a traumatic injury in her late teens, Keke fell in love with the magic of yoga and sustainable approaches towards movement. She has been teaching for over three years since completing her YTT in 2019 and infuses her love of poetry and dance into her teachings. She also invites others to explore what movement can feel like when we tune into what our bodies truly need, instead of contorting to fit in. She is a strong mental health advocate, certified trauma-informed teacher and certified CBT-teacher. She also is a public speaker and artistic facilitator.

She is a proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Toronto and has worked alongside many local non-profits organizations and grass-roots groups to create innovative and holistic workshops, performances and events. She believes healing is a right not a luxury. Everyone deserves to feel good in their bodies
