Uni Prep Microcourse The Science and Practice of Learning

This workshop is a part of the Uni Prep 4-part micro-course that will help you to explore what university learning is like and build your foundation for academic success at U of T. This session will 
  

  • Understand learning and the power of metacognition to move beyond simple memorization    
  • Commit to new ways of studying  
  • Discover how to enhance your academic self-efficacy and shape your mindset for learning 
 
The Uni Prep micro course is made up of 4 sessions. You'll be able to connect with your peers, current students and learning strategists, and practice the skills you need to succeed. 

The Science and Practice of Learning will be offered at the following times  
August 18, 7 - 8:30 p.m. 
August 24, 12 - 1:30 p.m. 
 
We also encourage you to come to the other parts of the micro-course by registering for the sessions below You will receive a Co-Curricular Record credit if you complete all 4 parts. Missed a previous session but still want co-curricular credit? You'll be able to watch previous sessions asynchronously by registered for these sessions.
 
Activate Your Curiosity for Better Critical Thinking

Build Your Academic Resourcefulness 
August 25, 7 - 8:30 p.m. 
August 31, 12 - 1:30 p.m. 

What you will need & access:  
This workshop requires access to the internet for an uninterrupted hour of time although a call-in number will also be provided for a less participatory option.  
You can request the slides ahead of time (or after) to support your participation and/or learning.  
 The workshop will be presented in English with English and closed captioning available via MS Teams or Zoom. There is also a translation function for the comments.   
This workshops will contain interactive components. You might be invited to engage with the workshop using the chat function, virtual breakout rooms, online polling and will have the option to contribute using your mic and/or video functions.
