Lets Hike Toronto Monthly Hike

Aug 11, 2022 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM

Registration Deadline: Aug 11, 2022 12:00 AM

Want to get to know your classmates and see more of Toronto?

Join Let's Hike T.O. for 9km walk that will take you through Tommy Thompson Park, from the Centre of International Experience (CIE; 33 St. George St). The park is a unique urban wilderness in Toronto owned by Toronto Region Conservation Authority. It is located on the Leslie Street Spit and is a great place to experience nature and the outdoors. It is widely considered one of the best places for bird-watching in the city, with more than 300 recorded species. We'll catch some great views of the skyline as we walk. The area is very flat and wide so quite easy to walk for the most part. We will occasionally go off trail to explore some of the hidden paths in the park. We will be stopping often to discuss the stories behind the places we visit so be sure to bring your camera, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and dress for the weather!

Let's Hike T.O. is a hiking community open to everyone with a focus on people of colour, newcomers, and young adults (20-40)! Let's Hike T.O. has partnered with the University of Toronto Sports & Recreation to offer monthly hikes throughout the winter, spring and summer. These special hikes will leave from the St. George Campus and will take students on a journey through local streets, green spaces, and ravines.

August's hike, 'Tommy Thomson Park', in partnership with CIE and UofT Health and Wellness, will be led by Camara on Thursday, August 11th from 4 to 7:30pm. Register today as spots are limited! You're invited to come connect, learn, build community and friendships, and enjoy gentle movement outdoors together.
Please note: this hike is family friendly. Cost for the TTC ride together to the hike start point not included; please bring TTC fare.

If you have any questions please reach out to Odelia Bempah (odelia.bempah@utoronto.ca).

We hope to see you there!
