Virtual Accountability Check-In

Dec 16, 2022 03:00 PM to 03:30 PM

Registration Deadline: Dec 16, 2022 03:00 PM

Virtual Accountability Check-Ins:

Join us weekly, for 30-minute weekly check-ins on Mondays (12-12:30pm) to:

  • set goals for your week,
  • prioritize tasks, and
  • create a weekly schedule.
Then join us later in the week for 30-minute check-ins on Fridays (3-3:30pm) to:
  • see how the week went,
  • celebrate successes, and
  • reflect on what adjustments could be helpful moving forward
Format:  Virtual Accountability is a space for students to connect with peers and a learning strategist to learn about how to make their weekly academic tasks more manageable. The Friday sessions are split into three parts: introductions, weekly update(s)/reframes, and a discussion about how to reward individual efforts for the week. This session takes place virtually using MS Teams. There are no PowerPoint slides for this session and students are encouraged to attend for the entire 30 minutes.

Participation:  We welcome students to participate in a way that works best for you, whether that is using your camera, mic, or typing in the chat. On Fridays students are asked to introduce themselves at the beginning of the session, share updates about how their week went in relation to their academic goals, and any new information they gathered about themselves that could help them moving forward. We conclude with a discussion around rewarding efforts.

Materials:  Students are encouraged to refer back to their goals from the beginning of the week.

Platform Access Information:  To learn about the accessibility features on MS Teams and how to use them, students can read more about the overview of accessibility features and watch the MS Teams video tutorials.

Note: Registration is required for this event, so that students can receive the link to join the online program. Students are encouraged to attend both Monday and Friday sessions, but it is not mandatory.

Students will be sent a link to join a Microsoft Teams Online Meeting in their reminder email sent approximately 24 hours prior to the session:
Students from U of T, UTSC, and UTM who self-identify as having a disability(ies) are welcomed!
