Reading and note-taking are important parts of the learning process and can help you learn more effectively and efficiently 
 
During this session we will discuss: 

  • Active reading strategies  
  • Key Note-Taking Systems 
  • Managing and integrating notes from class and readings  
  • How your reading and note-taking practices can support efficient learning  
 
This session will include a lecture-style presentation with opportunities for interaction 
 
Complements to this workshop are our "Reading Effectively" and " Taking Useful Notes from Class" peer workshops, where you'll create your personalized study plan with the help of a peer. Visit uof.me/academicevents to find times for this workshop

A FREE light lunch will be provided during this workshop. Please be sure to cancel your spot if you are not able to attend to limit food wastage and allow other students to join.

What you will need & access: 
This workshop requires access to the internet for an uninterrupted hour although a call-in number will also be provided for a less participatory option. You can request the slides ahead of time to support your participation and/or learning. 
The workshop will be presented in English with English and closed captioning available via MS Teams or Zoom. There is also a translation function for the comments. 
This workshop will contain interactive components. You might be invited to engage with the workshop using the chat function, virtual breakout rooms, online polling and will have the option to contribute using your mic and/or video functions.

After this workshop, we recommend you:
