This is a section of the training program for mentors and peer assistants.This workshop teaches students about effective coaching techniques, academic skills provided by the 5-part Starter Kit (hosted at the Academic Success Resource Library), and how to use them to address the most frequent academic obstacles that they and other students face.
Students will be able to:
- Apply questioning and active listening techniques
- Explain five major strategies to foster academic success, including reading effectively, how to take notes from classes, managing motivation, SMART goals, and exam preparation
- Formulate personalized and suitable suggestions for students to try out
