Talking to New People.
This synchonous workshop is a one-time 1.5 hour workshop that will help you develop the skills you need to make new connections and manage fear and anxiety that comes along with it. In this workshop, we will teach you how to make new connections and you will practice these skills so that you'll leave with experience and confidence that will help you continue talking to new people. Please note that this workshop is open to all students. For graduate students who are interested in Talking to New People specifically for grad students please learn more on the Grad Talks website.
Accessibility Notes.
- Location: UTSU Student Commons, Room 556/558. UTSU Student Commons is at 230 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1R2, at the intersection of College St and Huron St.
- Language: the conversation will happen in English
- Movement Involved: All of our workshops have a 5-10 minute voluntary movement break built into the workshops.
- Participation Expectations: Participants are expected to arrive no later than 15 minutes after the start time of the workshop and are expected to stay and participate throughout the session to receive credit. There will be the opportunity to participate by having large and small group discussions as well as interactive activities.
- Privacy: This workshop is only available to UofT students and will not be recorded without the express permission of the participants.
- Space: This event will be held at the UTSU Student Commons, Room 556/558. The conversation will use PowerPoint slides and a handout to follow along. Copies of the PowerPoint and the handout will be available prior to the session upon request.
