ASD Peer Connections for Women and Trans Students (Hybrid)

ASD Peer Connections for Women & Trans Students provides women and trans students with ASD an informal space to connect and discuss topics relevant to their disability and/or identity.

Topics include:
Building a supportive group
Finding creative outlets
Creating an inclusive classroom/university 

If this is your first time joining, please complete the ASD Peer Connections for Women & Trans Student sign up form. Women and trans students who self-identify as having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are eligible. No formal diagnosis is required.
This program is open to all students who self-identify as having ASD. No formal diagnosis is required. Students from all three campuses who self-identify as having a disability(ies) are welcomed! 

Format: ASD Peer Connections will be offered simultaneously in-person and virtually via MS Teams. Students are encouraged to attend for the full hour. The session will take place bi-weekly and be run by an Accessibility Advisor and Peer Facilitator. Students are welcome to take breaks during the session as needed.

Participation: Being on camera, using your mic, or participating in the chat are all optional when attending virtually. We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. There will not be breakout rooms. Students are welcome to bring their own questions to the event.

Materials: Participants are not required to bring materials.

Platform Access Information: If attending online, this event will be delivered using MS Teams. Please ensure your MS Teams is up to date to make the most of this session. Information on how to access live captions, and all other accessibility information for MS Teams, can be found on the MS Teams accessibility page. If attending in person, this event will take place in the Accessibility Programming Space (455 Spadina Ave, suite 401).

Technology & Sound:  If attending online, this event will be taking place over the MS Teams, and will require a computer or device with this platform installed, with speakers or connection to a headset.
