Skill-Based Notetaking (Virtual)

Jan 12, 2024 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM

Registration Deadline: Jan 12, 2024 02:00 PM

Are you interested in learning about a variety of effective methods to take notes during class? In this 60-minute workshop, connect with an Accessibility Services Learning Strategist to learn new skills, ask questions, and discuss your current strategies for note-taking. Within this workshop, students will discover active studying strategies that will help with taking notes during online and in-person classes.

  • Learn strategies to take notes by hand or on your computer for online or in-person courses
  • Discover ways to incorporate active review into your weekly schedule
  • Discover strategies to get the most out of your courses, through annotating digital slides, taking digital notes, reviewing supplemental or copied notes

Format:  Skill-Based Notetaking will be offered virtually via MS Teams. Students are encouraged to attend for the full hour. The session will be run by an Accessibility Services Learning Strategist. Students are welcome to take breaks during the session as needed.

Participation:  Being on camera, using your mic, or participating in the chat are all optional. We welcome you to participate in a way that works for you. There will not be breakout rooms. Students are welcome to bring their own questions to the workshop.

Materials: We encourage you to bring a pen and paper to take notes during this event.  Slides will be sent to attendees via email after the session.
