Transition Day is an opportunity for educators and supporters to learn more about the transition to university for students with disabilities. Join us to learn about academic accommodations and how they are implemented, assessment and common transition challenges, and student support services available. This webinar is for all high school educators/guidance counsellors and community partners who work with students with disabilities, as well as prospective students, families and supporters, looking to learn more about how accommodations are implemented in post-secondary education.  
 
The event is scheduled from 10am - 2pm (Eastern Time) on Wednesday May 1 and will cover a range of topics for incoming/prospective students living with disabilities including: 

  • An introduction to Accessibility Services and accommodations  
  • Registration and documentation requirements 
  • Accessibility Advisors and how they work with students 
  • Preparation for university life and learning
  • A Student and Staff Panel with information and tips 
  • A Resource Panel with support services 

Participants will receive an overview/more details as well as the link to join online about one week prior to the event. If multiple members from the same school are planning to join, please only complete a separate form if you will be using more than one device to join. 

The virtual component of this event will be hosted via Zoom, and Zoom closed captioning will be turned on. If you require additional accommodations to participate fully, please indicate this in your registration. Please note: the information you provide by signing up for this Accessibility Services event through CLNx is held confidentially, in line with FIPPA standards.
