What is "In the Field" ?
Have you ever wanted to work in a company and wondered what it's really like? "In the Field" is a career exploration program inolving a workplace tour that exposes students to the range of careers that can be found within an organization. Students also have the opportunity to hear from current employees and gain knowledge of the day-to-day operations.  Students will be given a guided tour of the Toronto Zoo and be introduced to the different career paths that exist within this organization. 

When is it?
Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 9:00am-1:00pm

Agenda
9:00 - Board school bus from UTSC (arrive 10 minutes earlier)
9:30-9:45am - Intro (Learning & Engagement)
9:45-10:45am - Behind the Scenes and Tour Onsite
10:45-11:00am - Break
11:00-11:30am - Career Options provided by HR at the Zoo
11:30-12:00pm (noon) - Staff Panel/Q&A 
12:00-12:15pm - Reflection
2:00pm - Return to UTSC

How can I participate?
To participate on the In the Field Tour of the Toronto Zoo on Friday March 23, 2022, please register for this mandatory preparation session.

What will I learn about in the Prep Session?

• The connection between attending In the Field and personal career planning
• How to form networks and ask informed questions to explore various fields within the Toronto Zoo.
• Gain understanding of the importance of professionalism required for the tour
• Learn about the logistics of the tour itself

Eligibility
All U of T registered students and recent graduates (within two years of graduation) are eligible to participate. Please note that students from all disciplines and programs are eligible.

Transportation
There is no cost to participate on this tour. Please note that we will be taking a bus from campus at 9:00am.  Alternatively, you may choose to meet us directly at the Toronto Zoo.

Is In the Field CCR eligible?
Yes. Once you have attended the In the Field tour, it is eligible for your co-cirricular record. Please visit ccr.utoronto.ca for more information. Please note that attending the preparation session and not attending the tour is not eligible for CCR validation.

Are there other In the Field Tours taking place?
In the Field tours are held throughout various times within the year. Please check the events calendar for those that are coming up.
