How Identity Impacts Learning for Southeast Asian Students

Goal
To help Southeast Asian students better articulate how the lack / absence of identity representation and feelings of belonging can negatively impact their engagement and learning.
Learning Outcomes
- Students who participate will be able to understand at least two (2) key dimensions of identity that supports learning.
- By the end of this event students will be able to outline at least two (2) elements of imposter syndrome in order to create strategies for self-care, community building and self-advocacy.
Ever feel like your identity is not valued, you don?t belong, or you don't deserve to be at university? This workshop will explore how the university can feel like a site of exclusion for marginalized students. Learn strategies that can lessen the negative impact.
