Navigating the Job Search as an International Student

Nov 15, 2022 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Registration Deadline: Nov 15, 2022 10:00 AM

Our multiple, intersectional identities are intrinsically tied to how we find and show up at work - so let's chat about it!

This event is an interactive dialogue co-hosted by Career Exploration & Education and the Centre for International Experience.

Grab a cup of tea or coffee, and join us to...

  • Acknowledge, question, and challenge barriers and obstacles international students face finding work in Canada
  • Explore how and where to begin looking for full-time work in Canada
  • Develop strategies and support systems to help you build and grow your career
Please note that we will not be providing advice on immigration/permanent residency/work visas in this session. Please refer to the Working in Canada page on the Centre for International Experience website for more information and support on this topic.

Who is this session for?
  • While this session centers and prioritizes the experiences of international students and recent alumni, we welcome and encourage anyone to attend.
What should I expect in this session?
  • We begin our sessions with a short presentation, followed by dialogue and space to connect between and across the intersections of our identities. In the last fifteen minutes, we will move into a process of co-exploring and reimagining the world of work as it relates to our identities.
  • Please note that this session is virtual, and will occur over Zoom.
