Work Study Supervisors: Leading Practices in Equitable & Inclusive Hiring
Sep 13, 2024 10:00 AM
to
12:00 PM
Registration Deadline: Sep 13, 2024 09:00 AM
Ensuring that we hire in inclusive, accessible, and equitable ways requires intentionality and a willingness to unpack traditional hiring practices while reimagining and exploring equitable and inclusive alternatives.
Through this workshop, we will be discussing effective hiring practices for Work Study colleagues, focusing specifically on the candidate selection, interview, and interview assessment aspects of the process.
By the end of this session, folks will have the tools to:
Dispel myths about equitable hiring and implement more inclusive, equitable and accessible approaches
Unpack unconscious bias and develop an awareness of their positionality throughout the hiring process
Develop interview questions, structures, and assessment frameworks that center on equity and accessibility
Apply best practices for evaluating and hiring candidates, using evidence-based approaches
Pre-reading is not required for this session, but for those interested - we will be drawing on insights from the CACUSS guide Working Towards Inclusion: Equitable Practices for Hiring Student Staff and New Professionals.
